Keith Hufnagel 1974-2020

The skateboarding world has lost a true icon. Keith Hufnagel passed away yesterday, leaving the legacy of his amazing skateboarding and the ultra-cool and popular HUF streetwear brand.

Huf relocated from New York to SF in the early 90s. He brought with him a style of skateboarding with the gritty flavour of the Brooklyn banks and NYC streets, which made a big impact across the world. His skateboarding was a perfect balance of style and power, and he was known for his gravity-defying ollies.

Keith opened a small shop in San Francisco, which quickly became popular. This was the catalyst for creating the HUF line, which developed into one of the classic streetwear brands, including apparel, footwear and skateboarding goods.

We are so sad to hear of Keith’s passing, and we’ve selected above one of our many favourite HUF sections - FTC Penal Code from 1996. Watch that and then scour the net for more of his all time classics, such as Real Skateboard’s Real to Reel and Roll Forever, Dan Wolfe’s Closure and his episodes of Epicly Later’d.
