Ignacio Echeverría, the Skateboard Hero who Fought a Terrorist by TCTV
Our good friend, and very talented film-maker, Tim Crawley has just produced an extemely touching documentary about skateboard hero Ignacio Echeverría for Vice.
If you somehow don't know about Ignacio, he was the brave skateboarder who went to the aid of victims of the horrific terrorist attack in London in 2017, losing his life in the attempt to save others.
Tim travelled to Spain to meet Ignacio's familiy and skateboard friends, both in his hometown of Las Rozas de Madrid and London, and put in a huge amount of energy and time to ensure he created a fitting tribute to a fellow skater. The result is a heartfelt tribute which honours a brave son, friend and skateboarder.
Here are Tim's words on the subject:
"My new Documentary for @vice is now live. This is the story of #IgnacioEcheverria the Spanish skateboarder who fought the London Bridge terrorists with his skateboard during the attack in 2017. I made this film with all my heart and would like to thank all those in the film for being so brave. The Echeverria family and Ignacio’s friends. I’m sad I never got to meet Ignacio but have made some lovely lasting connections with his friends and family and feel connected to him in a way that’s hard to describe but will be with me forever ❤️ 💫 "
